STEPS OF ST. PAUL

(Turkey, Greece, Malta with optional Rome)

DAY 1:ISTANBUL

Depart Manila midnight via your favorite airline. Upon arrival in Istanbul, transfer from airport with afternoon guided tour of Istanbul including Santa Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Roman Race Track. Dinner and overnight Istanbul.

DAY 2:ISTANBUL

Full day guided tour of Istanbul including the Basilicia in Chora, the Rustem Pasa Mosque, the spice market, the Topkapi palest and treasury and the Great Bazaar of Istanbul. Dinner and overnight Istanbul.

DAY 3:ISTANBUL/Ferry to BANDIRMA /PERGAMO / IZMIR

Full day tour with ferry crossing to Bandirma. Visit Pergamum with its Acropolis and Asclepion. Arrive Izmir and visit the church of Saint Policarp and then enjoy a panoramic tour of the city. Dinner and overnight Izmir.

DAY 4: KUSADASI / EPHESUS

Travel to Kusadasi with full day visit of Ephesus, whose inhabitants were the recipients of Apostle Paul’s famous epistle; then visit the archaeological sites, the house of the Madonna and the Saint John Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

DAY 5: CANAKKALE / TROY / CANAKKALE

Travel to Canakkale with stops at Alexandria Troas and the archaeological sit of Troy. Dinner and overnight in Canakkale.

DAY 6: CANAKKALE / Ferry to IPSALA / KAVALA

Full day tour to Ipsala and Kavala beginning with a ferry to Ipsala. Cross the border and continue on with a day trip to Kavala. Dinner and overnight in Kavala.

DAY 7: KAVALA / PHILIPPI / THESSALONIKI

Visit the cities of Kavala and Philippi where Paul delivered his first sermon in Europe, sowing the seeds of Christianity. “And from there (He went) to Philippi, which is the leading district of Macedonia and a Roamn Colony. We remained in this city some days…” Acts 16:12-18. Here Paul baptized a certain woman named Lydia, the first Christian convert in Europe. The Roman forum completely excavated is from after Paul’s time. Among the ruins, located on the rocky ledge above the town’s main road is the prison where Paul and Silas were thrown. Continue into the modern port city of Kavala, ancient Neapolis, where Paul accompanied Silas, Luke and Timothy, first set foot in Europe. Then proceed to Thessaloniki for a city tour. Paul preached in Thessaloniki during the winters of 49-50 AD and wrote two epistles to the ancient Thessalonians. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 8: THESSALONIKI / VERIA / ATHENS

Depart Thessaloniki and drive to Veria for a visit before arriving in Athens. Dinner and overnight in Athens.

DAY 9: ATHENS / CORINTH / ATHENS

Full day tour of Athens including a visit to the ancient site of Corinth. St. Paul preached and lived for two years. The vigorious and mostly Gentile Church he founded here in 50AD caused him grief and prompted him to write, at least, four letters to them. Visit the ruins of the ancient city where Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla. Dinner and overnight in Athens.

DAY 10: ATHENS / ISLE OF MALTA

Transfer to the airport for flight to Malta. St Paul spent several months on the island of Malta. Arrival and transfer to the hotel and then proceed on a full day tour of the island. Dinner and overnight in Malta.

DAY 11: GOZO & SAINT PAUL BAY

Full day tour to Gozo, the citadel and the Saint Paul bay. Dinner and overnight in Malta

DAY 12: MALTA/ MANILA

Whole morning free until transfer to the airport for return flight to Manila.

DAY 13: ARRIVAL MANILA IN THE AFTERNOON. Home sweet home!

OR EXTEND TO ROME FROM MALTA

DAY 12: MALTA/ ROME Whole morning free until transfer to airport for onward flight to ROME. Arrive in the afternoon and continue to classical tour in Rome visiting Colosseum known for its gladiatorial combats, the Roman Forum, the amazing Trevi fountain, Piazza de Venezia, the Pantheon and the Spanish steps. Dinner and overnight in Rome. DAY 13: ROME This morning, proceed to the Vatican museum and visit the underground tomb of the Popes and the newly restored Sistine Chapel with its magnificent frescoes depicting the “LAST JUDGEMENT” by Michael Angelo and the beautiful paintings of the masters. Visit the important churches in the history of our faith and considered as major basilicas of Rome: Have our private mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, visit Santa Maria Maggiore, Basilica of St. John in Lateran (oldest church in Rome-Gift of St. Helena to the Pope), Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls and St. Peter’s Basilica. Check in at hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D) Day 14: ROME / MANILA Whole morning is free until transfer to airport for return flight to Manila. Day 15: Arrive Manila. HOME SWEET HOME!

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION

Ø A non-refundable deposit of USD$500/ person upon reservation including visa fees & documents to be 2MONTHS PRIOR DEPARTURE DATES

Ø Fifty percent deposit due upon release of visa

Ø Balance of full payment due upon ticketing or 1 month prior departure

Ø Cancellation charge of fifty percent (50%) of tour cost will be imposed if cancellation is done two (2) weeks before departure date.

Ø Full tour cost will be forfeited if cancellation is done within two (2) weeks before departure date.

Ø Unused portion of the tour is non-refundable.

CONDITIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRICES/TOUR COST DO NOT INCLUDE Philippine travel tax (PHP1620.00), taxes on air tickets, airport and departure taxes, Schengen visa fee and assistance , travel insurance, medical and hospitalization expenses, tours and transportation expenses during free periods, porterage of extra luggages, drinks and meals not specified in the itinerary, tips for drivers and tour guides (USD8/day/pax) and such other personal nature like telephone calls, fax, laundry, room services and expenses not mentioned in the itinerary terms and conditions.

Our company or its subagents therefore only acts as agents for the operators providing the various services described in this tour and assume no responsibility or liability that may occur out of or in connection with losses or unexpected expenses due to delays, overbooking, and defaults.
